Malayalam action comedy film, Athiradi, starring Basil Joseph in the lead role, recorded a banger opening at the box office. The movie collected Rs. 6 crore on its debut day, including paid previews. Of this, the action comedy entertainer grossed Rs. 60 lakh in its Wednesday previews and Rs. 5.40 crore on Day 1.
Directed by Arun Anirudhan, the Malayalam film is expected to see a good hold ahead and record a massive opening weekend. The Basil Joseph starrer met with a mainly positive reception among the audience, which is a big plus for the film. Co-starring Tovino Thomas, the movie has the potential to emerge as a Clean Hit venture at the box office.
